Introducing a Five-Minute Guided Meditation: Relax, Unwind and Replenish Your Mind

Let us begin this journey towards relaxation, tranquility, replenishment…
Find yourself a comfortable place where you can sit undisturbed for the next five minutes. Dim the lights, if you can, creating a soothing environment.
Sit down, confidently, back straight but not stiff, feet grounded on the floor.
Close your eyes.
Take a long, slow, deep breath in. Hold it for a moment, then breathe out fully, allowing your body to relax. When you are ready, bring attention to the following areas:
Relax your forehead: The forehead often holds a lot of tension. Allow any tension to dissipate, encouraging the muscles to relax and soften.
Release your jaw: Let go any tension you may be holding in your jaw. Let it slacken.
Drop your shoulders: Feel any stress you’re carrying slip away as you let your shoulders relax.
Loosen your hands: Uncurl your hands, let them rest unfisted in your lap.
Then still, say within yourself: “I am relaxed.” Repeat it gently. “I am relaxed.”
Having relaxed your body, captivate your senses with calming, pleasing thoughts.
Envisage a peaceful place: Imagine yourself in a serene place. It might be a quiet, shaded forest, a tranquil beach, a starry sky, or an open meadow. Picture it vividly. Allow yourself to soak up the peace that arises.
Now, let’s take care of your mind.
You have now invited values of tranquility and stillness. Let’s replenish your mind. Accept this moment. You are here. You are safe. All is well.
Remembering your inner strength and peace: Within you is an infinite reservoir of resilience and calmness. No matter what goes on outside, this inner peace remains unshaken. Tap into this serenity.
Forgiving and letting go: Now imagine any anxiety, tension or conflict you’ve been carrying. Gently acknowledge them, then let them drift away like a bird taking flight.
Cultivating a sense of gratitude: Bring to mind something you’re grateful for — it could be a person, a situation, or even a personal quality. Embrace the feeling of appreciation.
Then still, in your mind, repeat: “I am replenished.” Then say it again, softly, “I am replenished”.
Take a last deep breath in, and as you exhale, slowly open your eyes, ready to bring this calming presence into your day.
Stay in this state of relaxation and awareness for a minute or more if you wish, then gradually rise, carrying this replenished mindset and energy into your day.
